At First City, our dedication extends beyond serving your financial needs; we are committed to making a meaningful impact in the neighborhoods we call home. Allow me to share some memorable moments from our recent endeavors:
Claremont High School Wolfpack Invitational Speech and Debate Tournament: Our volunteers thoroughly enjoyed supporting this event, which hosted over 500 student competitors from various Southern California schools. Ensuring the smooth operation of the tournament and providing support to the 200 volunteer judges was a gratifying experience. Witnessing the spirit of collaboration among the participants was truly heartwarming. We take pride in supporting initiatives that promote education, critical thinking, and public speaking skills among our youth.
Lakewood Run: This event, organized by the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station and Soroptimist International, served as a platform to come together as a community and celebrate health, wellness, and unity. Rain or shine, our presence demonstrated that at First City, everyone is valued and belongs. It’s moments like these that emphasize the power of community and the significance of collective efforts in making a difference.
The LAGMC Pop-up Branch: To honor the dedicated staff at the Los Angeles General Medical Center, we established a pop-up branch at the Inpatient Tower Employee Cafeteria. Our team is available every Tuesday and Friday to provide assistance with banking needs, aiming to make banking more convenient and accessible for our heroes.
In addition to these community engagements, I’m thrilled to announce our partnership with GreenPath Financial Wellness, a reputable non-profit organization with extensive experience in empowering individuals toward financial success. Through this partnership, our members gain access to personalized services, including financial counseling, debt management plans, housing services, credit report reviews, and student loan counseling.
